Or for hickory nut trees. Paint the hickory nuts with white and/or orange paint and then create pumpkin faces on them for a fun fall craft for kids.
I love my fruit and granola tarts recipe in my cookbook. I put a fall twist on the toppings by cutting apples in an acorn shape and cream cheese in a pumpkin shape. For the acorns, use an acorn cookie cutter. For the pumpkins, use a pumpkin shaped rubber ice mold tray. I found mine at the dollar store. Top with a drizzle of melted peanut butter or simply a sprinkle of cinnamon.
For your fall party, make your own seating for guests by covering hay bales with painter”s canvas cloth and tie with string to secure. If you are really crafty, create seating with pallets.
