Christmas Chocolate Bark

I love gathering in the kitchen with my mom and sisters and making homemade treats to enjoy for Christmas. We love gifting them to our neighbors and friends too. This Christmas Chocolate Bark is so easy to make and very impressive. I top the rich, luscious chocolate with Christmas colors, green toasted pistachios, almonds, and red dried cranberries and cherries. I also add gold sea salt for a festive touch. You can choose your favorite toppings though.

Serves: 40 pieces

Ingredients

  • 2 (10 oz.) bags 60% to 70% bittersweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup toasted almonds
  • 1/4 cup toasted pistachios
  • 1/3 cup sweetened dried cranberries and/or cherries
  • Optional, flaky sea salt

Instructions

1

Place the chocolate chips in a large microwave-safe bowl. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring after each one. Stop microwaving when the chocolate is about 90% melted. Stir until all the chocolate is melted and smooth.

2

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the melted chocolate in the middle of the baking sheet. Using a rubber spatula, evenly spread the chocolate to about 1/4 to 1/8-thick.

3

Roughly chop the toasted almonds and pistachios. Evenly sprinkle the nuts and dried fruit over the melted chocolate. Lastly, crush the flaky sea salt over the chocolate if desired.

4

Allow the chocolate to cool completely on the counter at room temperature for 2 to 4 hours. You can also refrigerate the chocolate bark for 30 minutes to an hour or until set. If refrigerated, the chocolate may discolor some.

5

Once the chocolate is completely hardened, break the chocolate into about 40 pieces.

6

Package the chocolate bark for gifting or store in a container and cover for up to 1 week.
